Grading: Moderate
Distance: 7 km / 4.5 miles
Start: Ramsey Harbour
Finish: Maughold Church
This walk takes you from a bustling harbour town to the peaceful coastal cliffs of Maughold Brooghs which blooms with gorse and bluebells in spring. Arriving at the edge of Maughold Village, you'll find the church and shelter which houses the largest collection of carved Norse and Celtic crosses.
Leaving Ramsey you'll follow over the electric railway line to reach Port Lewaigue and Gob ny Rona. Take time to look back at the sweep of Ramsey Bay. The coastal path winds round to another beach Port-e-Vullen which is sometimes restricted at high tide but you can take the route back to the road path.
After Port-e-Vullen there's a short stretch of road before finding an almost concealed kissing gate, on your left. Follow the small pathway to take you onto the cliffs of Maughold Brooghs. Take in the spectacular scenery before arriving on the village edge.
