The Isle of Man is a great destination for a family holiday as there are plenty of activities and attractions to keep the little ones entertained.

With many open spaces to be explored, there are numerous ways for the whole family to enjoy the great outdoors during your visit.

Mooragh Park in Ramsey is a popular attraction with visitors and residents alike. It boasts a 12-acre boating lake which hosts a wide range of watersport activities throughout the year where you can try your hand at canoeing, kayaking or sailing. There’s also tennis courts, a bowling green, BMX track, and a crazy golf course as well as a children’s playground and special water play area.

Another hotspot for family fun is at Onchan Pleasure Park - home of stockcar racing in the Isle of Man since 1969! Here you’ll find a boating lake complete with bumper and motorboats, go-karts, a crazy golf course and large children’s playground.

Silverdale Glen is another great place to spend a day with the family. It has an extensive play area, pretty boating lake and a water-powered carousel, which is as popular now as it was in the Victorian era! There’s also a beautiful and secluded historic glen that is popular with walkers and families looking to explore some of the Island’s enchanting landscape.

There are also many traditional playgrounds in the main villages, including Poulsom Park in Castletown or Nobel’s Park in Douglas for a good old-fashioned day of fun.

For the younger children, Dragon’s Castle in Douglas offers a soft indoor play area for children 4ft tall and under. Whether it’s to escape the rain or to give the kids an enclosed space to get rid of their excess energy in a safe environment – this is the perfect place to visit.

And for any animal lovers, take a trip to Silly Moos or Curraghs Wildlife Park for animal encounters, outdoor play areas, giant mazes and endless entertainment!
