For a small island, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of food and drink on the Isle of Man.

With an abundance of cafés and coffee shops to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice no matter what time of day you choose to stop and refresh.

A good breakfast will set you up for a day of adventure, and you’ll find many places offer a full-English, continental options or a traditional Manx breakfast of smoked kippers.

If you’re exploring the Island’s Capital, Douglas, you’ll see recognisable brands of coffee shops throughout the main shopping area for you to grab a hot drink and a slice of cake during the day.

Away from Douglas, you’re more likely to come across independent cafés serving hot and cold dishes - much of which is locally sourced. Found throughout the Island, you won’t be far from a café to visit.

One of the popular spots for visitors and residents alike is Little Fish Café on the Quay in Douglas where you can experience some of the Island’s locally caught seafood. Offering food from breakfast through to an evening meal, their menu offers popular, wholesome food for the whole family to enjoy.

Another great place to stop for a bite to eat is The Shed situated at the far end of the promenade in Laxey. Here you can enjoy indulgent homemade cakes, nourishing lunches and homemade fruit juices, either on the beach or under the outdoor heaters with a cosy blanket. And while you’re in Laxey, don’t forget to visit the world’s largest working waterwheel!

If it is a fabulous view that you’re after, Milntown Café in Ramsey offers a range of delicious home cooked seasonal dishes with wonderful views of both their Walled Garden and famous Winchester Gate. Set in 5 acres of gardens and woodlands, there’s plenty for you to explore either before or after a delightful lunch.
