Celebrate the islands incredible culinary scene from 14th February to 31st March as venues across the Island showcase dishes using local ingredients and produce. The Boatyard is honoured to be taking part and has entered into all 4 categories.
Manx Menu Starter
Gone Crabbing - Evoking childhood memories of fishing for crab over the quayside. An assiette of local crab. Featuring crab toastie, crab croquette, and crab claw with a crab bisque foam.
Harvest of the Sea - a celebration of local shellfish which are landed on the harbour quayside here in Peel. Local lobster, King 'Disco' Scallop, Langoustine and Squid with a rich lobster bisque and sauteed Manx potatoes.
Manx Menu Dessert
Oie Voaldyn - Fire Festival An old Manx custom surrounding Oie Voaldyn or May Day Eve. Held on Peel beach, it is a time to celebrate the return of the fertility of the land, casting off darkness and celebrating light. The use of fire was one of a number of customs used at this time of year, to fend off witches and evil spirits.
Our Manx Menu Dessert Course. Baked 'Peel' Alaska. Oie Voaldyn on a plate. Soft Sponge like the golden sand of Peel's beach, layered with jam, local artisan cherry ice cream from Davison's and encased in a toasted whipped Italian meringue. Recreating the thrill of the Fire Festival, flaming Hoolie Rum is poured over the 'Peel Alaska' to fend of those witches and spirits, the evil ones, not the rum.

13-35 - Lifeboat Saver - The RNLI recently marked its 200-year anniversary, being established here on our island. 13 - 25 is the number of Peel's Shannon Class Lifeboat.
Our Manx Menu Cocktail. '13 - 35' embodies the spirit and mission of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) a blend of strength, resilience, and a nod to the sea. A storm is brewing, danger on the seas. Outliers Hoolie Rum, Manx Honey syrup and fresh lime juice, shaken like the rough winter sea, poured over rocks of ice in a commemorative RNLI 200 Glass. Topped with ginger infused Green Mann sparkling water. To the rescue, Fynoderee RNLI Gin, infused with orange bitters to give the distinctive orange colour of the lifeboat, is poured into the glass offering a visual and symbolic act of the brave men and women going to sea as live savers.
