Bringing your motorhome to the Isle of Man is a great way to get out and enjoy the Island’s scenery whist enjoying the comfort of your own surroundings. Campervans are welcomed to the Island all year round, so all you need to do is pack up your van and book your crossing!
For those who are looking to bring their towed caravan there are some restrictions to take into consideration. Due to the windy and sometimes narrow and tricky roads, bringing a towed caravan to the Isle of Man is controlled by way of an agreement between the Department of Infrastructure, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and other freight operators to ensure that towed caravans arriving at the Island’s main ports have a valid permit.
So, if you’re thinking of bringing your caravan to the Isle of Man, you’ll need to submit a written request to the address below or email caravan@gov.im prior to booking travel and/or at least two weeks before your visit. This should include details of your proposed date of arrival and departure, the purpose of your visit, and where your caravan is to be sited while on the Island.
