To find out more about what makes this gem in the Irish Sea so unique, take one of our popular guided cultural tours.

Isle of Man Guided Tours run throughout the year, including trips to the coast, woodlands, and historic sites. There are many impressive ancient sites to explore, including Neolithic tombs, Viking burials, castles and forts.

And if you appreciate magnificent architecture, a guided tour of the Gaiety Theatre is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Led by knowledgeable theatre staff, you’ll hear stories of the prestigious venue located in central Douglas. Built in 1899, the theatre is steeped in history and tradition and is one of the finest examples of work from architect, Frank Matcham. Tours are available throughout the summer season, including, a spooky ghost tour for those brave enough to explore backstage after dark.

During your stay, you can also take a tour of the High Court of Tynwald – the oldest continuous parliament in the world! Tynwald is the parliament of the Isle of Man and has an unlimited, but not necessarily exclusive, legislative competence. Its two branches, the Legislative Council and House of Keys sit together in Douglas and are open to members of the public. On a guided tour you can find out the history of Tynwald and how it works today or even watch a sitting from the public gallery!

If you want to experience the Island from a different perspective, Okell’s Guided Pub Walks launched by Heron and Brearley includes information on local points of interest, 6 half pints of beer (or soft drink), a tour of the cellars and a visit to a smugglers cave from the 1750s. Guided tours are an ideal opportunity to experience the real character of the Isle of Man and learn more about its colourful past.
