Keep the whole family entertained on the Isle of Man with a calendar packed with events to please both the young and young at heart. There’s plenty of entertainment, carnivals and occasions to enjoy on the Isle of Man, no matter what time of year it is you’ll find something different to do.
In the summer months, a colourful carnival parade comes to both Peel (in the west) and Douglas (in the east) filled with dance, music, professional street entertainment, fantastic costumes, floats and more!
Or how about coming to the Island for The Castletown festival? Here you’ll be treated to a Unique Grand Confetti Carnival, Open Air Dance, and Firework display in front of the Medieval fortress, Castle Rushen.
If you happen to be visiting towards the end of October, you’ll be in for a spooky Hop Tu Naa treat. Known as Halloween throughout the rest of the British Isles, on the Isle of Man Hop Tu Naa is celebrated instead with unique superstitions and turnip lanterns.
Find out more by visiting the annual event at Cregneash, where you can sing-along to the Hop tu Naa song, learn the steps to the traditional dance, carve a turnip lantern and discover seasonal baking.
And if you’re visiting for Christmas, you won’t want to miss the Pantomime at the magnificent Gaiety Theatre or a ride on the Santa Train – a real Victorian steam railway adventure.
Or why not take part in a local tradition and join in the Tower of Refuge Walk? Thousands of people walk to the tower in the sea during the low tide season to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Or how about visiting on the Isle of Man’s National Day – Tynwald Day - when parliament is held in the open air. The celebration is marked with music, dance, art and heritage for the whole family to enjoy.
