With connections to multiple airports and ferry ports in the UK and Ireland, the Isle of Man is easily accessible as a leisure destination and closer than you might think.
Flying is the quickest and, for many, the most convenient way to get here. In recent years, the Island’s air connections have expanded, offering greater choice for travellers. The airport is just 15 minutes from the capital, Douglas, with car hire, taxi and public transport readily available.
Flights operate from a range of airports across the UK and Ireland. Please check with individual airlines for the latest timetables, fares and bookings, or contact Isle of Man Airport, Ronaldsway, for further information.
If you prefer to sail, ferries operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company run to Douglas from Heysham, Liverpool, Larne and Dublin. Timetables and availability vary seasonally, so it is recommended to check in advance.
If you are travelling during the TT or Manx Grand Prix periods, booking well in advance is strongly advised, as these are the busiest times of the year.
Once you’ve arrived, you’ll find an extensive bus network serving the whole Island, alongside three heritage railways offering a unique and relaxing way to explore. Travel passes are available, providing unlimited access to buses and railways, as well as entry to selected heritage attractions.
Alternatively, car hire is widely available, giving you the freedom to explore the Island at your own pace.
