Step into a celebration where history rumbles, whistles, and glides along the rails! Join us for a joyful few days as the Isle of Man Heritage Transport Festival brings together steam, diesel, and electric wonders for a truly unforgettable family adventure at Groudle Glen Railway.

What's Happening

Wednesday 29th July | 11:00am – 9:00pm
Kick things off in spectacular style with a two-train steam service, starring the much-loved Sea Lion and Brown Bear. With extended evening running, there's plenty of time to soak up the sights, sounds, and magic of steam drifting through the glen.

⚡ Saturday 1st August | 11:00am – 4:30pm
It's time for something a little different on Diesel & Electric Day! Enjoy a fascinating two-train service showcasing the power and personality of our diesel and electric locomotives — a perfect mix of heritage and hands-on fun.

Sunday 2nd August | 11:00am – 4:30pm
Steam lovers, this one's for you! Watch history come alive with four steam locomotives in service, running a lively two-train operation that's sure to delight visitors of all ages.

Go Behind the Scenes

Workshop Tours available to book online on Saturday & Sunday — a rare chance to peek behind the doors and discover how these beloved machines are cared for.

Groudle Guided Tour from MER to Groudle on Wednesday evening — book online and enjoy a guided journey packed with stories, scenery, and railway secrets.
