Ballaugh Old Church Dawn Chorus and Concert!

Type:Community Event

Ballaugh Old Church Dawn Chorus and Concert!

About

Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this iconic church and its surrounding birdlife. Join us for a warm welcome drink and a short, guided breathing meditation, then into the churchyard to hear the birds waken in real time. With Manx Wildlife Trust on hand to discuss the various bird calls and answer any questions, you can get a real understanding of local birdlife. Then hot breakfast is available and enjoy an extraordinary performance by renowned composer Eleri Morgan who will perform live. Eleri's work is a regular feature of Radio 3 and BBC Sounds, her distinctive style embodies serene, reflective moods, a perfect conclusion to an extraordinary dawn experience.

Parking is available on the rural roads around the church. Please dress warmly and bring clothes suitable for the weather conditions, the event will go ahead regardless of rain. Some seating is available but please bring a folding chair if you definitely require seating. The churchyard is not wheelchair accessible unfortunately and no dogs are allowed. Warm drinks are available free and breakfast is available for a donation, all money raised goes to supporting Ballaugh Old Church. In event of bad weather please look at Friends of Ballaugh Old Church Facebook page for details. St Mary's Ballaugh Old Church, Cronk Road, Ballaugh (by Ballaugh Beach).
