What many racing fans may not be aware of is the abundance of Manx attractions, areas of beauty, and activities that lie a short distance from their favourite spectator spots. Fuel your love for motorsports at the Isle of Man Motor Museum

The Isle of Man Motor Museum is the perfect attraction for any motorsport lover. You’ll find over 500 unique vehicles housed in a former RAF base in Jurby, including rarely-seen private motorcycles, historically significant vehicles, motor vehicles and classic cars. The museum was started by father and son Denis and Darren Cunningham, who have built up their impressive collection over the past 30 years, as well as featuring over 250 privately loaned vehicles from enthusiasts and collectors. What’s more, the museum has recently opened a brand new Purple Helmets exhibit, showing the vehicles used for the former motorcycle display team, best known for their daring stunts at the TT.

Toast the TT with a drink at The Fynoderee Distillery

The Fynoderee Distillery is a craft distillery and bar that’s dedicated to producing premium spirits with genuine Manx heritage. You can nip into their premises in Ramsey for a celebratory beverage, perhaps a cocktail made using their spirits which are inspired by Manx folklore tales from around the Island. What’s more, you can book onto one of their distillery tours to learn more about the process of creating the spirits and experience a tutored tasting of their Manx Dry Gins, Manx Bumbee Vodka and Glashtyn Spiced Rum.

Discover a different kind of noise with a walk at Tholt y Will

Tholt y Will Glen is arguably one of the Island’s most beautiful glens, with its scenic paths meandering down the valley beside a tumbling mountain stream. Take a break from the noise of the TT with a walk through this peaceful place, listening to birdsong instead of roaring engines. You can also visit the neighbouring Sulby Reservoir, which provides a gentle waterside stroll that allows you to take in the impressive views of the Island’s largest reservoir.

Rev up your wild side with a trip to Curraghs Wildlife Park

See over 60 species of animals and birds at Curragh’s Wildlife Park in Ballaugh, including penguins, capybaras, lynxes, monkeys and more. A visit to the park is great for anyone who has children with them because it features numerous play areas, including a giant bouncy pillow and soft play. Try an alternative mode of transport with the Manx Electric Railway

Hop aboard a slightly slower mode of transport on the Manx Electric Railway, the longest narrow gauge vintage electric railway system in the British Isles. You can travel from Ramsey in the north to Douglas in the east, enjoying the beautiful Manx countryside, glens, and picturesque villages along the way. Explore the place behind the mile marker at Milntown

We’re sure you’re familiar with the name Milntown, it is after all located right beside the 23^rd mile marker, but have you discovered the place that’s behind the name? Set in the beautiful parish of Lezayre, Milntown is the Island’s only historic estate that’s open to the public, with 15 acres of stunning gardens and woodland, alongside the beautiful mansion and café. Visitors can wander the gardens, taste some fresh home-grown produce in the café, and even have a tour of the mansion house.

Slow down at The Ayres National Nature Reserve

The Ayres National Nature Reserve is an area of Special Scientific Interest with an idyllic 8km stretch of low-lying sand dune coastline, as well as multiple marked trails. It is home to an abundance of local wildlife, making it the ideal place to take some time out and immerse yourself in nature whilst trying to spot seals, dolphins and seabirds.
