About

Surface Area 154 acres.   Maximum depth 73 metres. Map ref: SC 373 890. Postcode for satnav: IM7 2BF.

The Island's largest and deepest reservoir lies in the shadow of Snaefell, the Island’s highest peak and offers a great trout fishing adventure. Surrounded by wild and rugged uplands, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to casting your line.  The favourite areas with the locals are on the south east bank.  Walk towards the reservoir from the car park then head left towards the bottom corner. The Pumphouse, located on the north west of the reservoir is also a popular fishing area. The west bank can also be accessed by footpath from the Druidale Rd.

This reservoir offers high quality stocked rainbow trout from 2lb upwards into double figures, along with the occasional wild brown trout. The reservoir is stocked between March and October on a regular basis. An Isle of Man Government Reservoir Licence is required to fish this reservoir.
