Oie voaldyn

About

The Oie Voaldyn Fire Festival is a vibrant reinterpretation of the traditional Manx May Fire Festival, celebrating the ancient custom of Oie Voaldyn, or May Day Eve. This event historically utilized fire to honor the return of fertility to the land, signifying the end of darkness and the welcoming of summer!

In 2026, Oie Voaldyn will feature an exhilarating community celebration that showcases the timeless battle between Summer and Winter. Two lively parades, embodying these opposing forces, will come together on Peel beach where their champions will engage in a dramatic combat. Ultimately, Summer triumphs, bringing forth the warmth and vitality of the upcoming months.
