About

Come bug hunting with us!

Date 02/05/2026
Time 11:00 to 15:00 drop-in
Location Curraghs Wildlife Park
Price Wildlife Park entrance fee
The Manx Wildlife Trust's Invertebrate Group are joining forces with Curraghs Wildlife Park to help raise awareness of EAZA's Wetlands for life Campaign, which is running this year (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria). Wetlands are some of our most threatened habitats, disappearing three times faster than forests. This unsung habitat is so important for flood protection, improving water quality and providing biodiverse hot spots. Come and meet some fascinating invertebrates adapted to life in the wet. And discover the Park's more exotic wetland creatures and our own specialised creatures living on the Island.

The Invertebrate Group will provide a public drop-in event for Wildlife Park visitors of all ages to experience the mini-world of invertebrates using microscopes and hand lenses. Volunteers will guide invertebrate forays into the Curragh wetland and will be on hand to help identify and learn about the creatures we find.

Find us at the Wildlife Park school room and adjacent Curragh wetland. There's plenty of parking at the Wildlife Park – Usual admission fees to the Wildlife Park will apply. Bring footwear for wet paths and Curragh if you want to join in the wetland forays (wellies, walking boots). Wheelchair access along paths, short walks along park trails. Refreshments are available in café adjacent to the school room. For more info on the Park and ticket prices: https://www.curraghswildlifepark.im/
