Art To Go

About

Get creative and design your own cotton tote bag inspired by the exhibition.

Start with a plain, natural cotton shopping bag and turn it into something personal. Add felt shapes, buttons, sequins, ribbon, embroidery, yarn or any craft materials you like. Keep it bold and graphic. Go abstract. Add colour blocks or simple shapes inspired by the artworks on display.

This workshop links to Art Adventures for Beginners, our family exhibition exploring modern and contemporary art from the Isle of Man Arts Council Collection. Use the exhibition as your starting point, then create a design that reflects your own ideas.

Curated by Manx National Heritage and the Isle of Man Arts Council, the exhibition features a selection from over 400 works in the Modern and Contemporary Loan Collection.

Suitable for all ages. We provide all the materials you need, but feel free to bring your own extras if you want to get creative and make your design more personal.

Leave with a one-off tote bag that's practical, personal and ready to use.
