Exploring the Isle of Man’s heritage attractions and glorious countryside during your visit is made easy with the Island’s extensive bus network.
The Isle of Man’s bus network - Bus Vannin – serves the whole of the Island on a regular basis including Ronaldsway Airport and the Sea Terminal in Douglas. This lets you explore the Island quickly and seamlessly while taking in the stunning sights from the comfort of a warm and reliable mode of transport.
The Isle of Man’s Airport is served by buses between Douglas and Port Erin or Peel and Castletown so getting to and from the Island’s only airport by bus is a cost-effective way to begin and end your trip. Buses are every 20 minutes to Port Erin or Douglas during the day, or every 30 minutes off peak, seven days a week.
There’s also a late-night bus service that operates on Friday and Saturday evenings and serves all the major towns. So, you can enjoy a few drinks or late night meal in different locations to where your accommodation is based without having to worry about a taxi fare.
The best way to get a great sightseeing experience of the Isle of Man is to purchase a Go Explore card and travel seamlessly across all Isle of Man Transport scheduled bus and rail services.
The cards replace the Explorer tickets and will entitle the holder to unlimited travel on scheduled seasonal services of the Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway, Douglas Horse Trams and buses.
Go Explore cards are available online or in person from the Welcome Centre in Douglas Sea Terminal, the airport information desk, main stations and the House of Manannan in Peel. You’ll find that getting around during your visit is easy and comfortable when you travel by bus.
