NEW FOR 2022: our culture and heritage sites are staying open longer this year, allowing visitors to experience the best of the Island's history throughout autumn and winter! Manx National Heritage's 12 sites are staying open through to the 29th November, and Isle of Man Railways are operating a weekend service on board the Steam Railway.

The Isle of Man boasts some of the purest skies in the British Isles, a valued attribute of the low light pollution, rural character and tranquillity of the Island. Home to 26 official dark sky sites, heading out stargazing is the perfect night-time activity this autumn. Port Soderick, Niarbyl, The Sound, Fort Island and Sulby Reservoir are just a few of the sites that offer spectacular crisp views of the magical night sky. Fancy taking a walk on the wild side this autumn? Known for its 160km coastline, the Isle of Man boasts a myriad of natural habitats, including grassland, wetland, woodland and glens, all home to a diversity of wildlife. From magnificent marine creatures to a huge population of visiting and migrant birds, you’ll be able to spot all sorts of wildlife in their natural habitats. If you’re lucky, you might even spot wild wallabies at the Curraghs in the north of the Island!
If its marine life you’re after, make sure you visit The Sound at the Island's southern tip. Here you are almost guaranteed to see a large population of grey seals. A boat trip may reward you with sightings of the dolphins, whales and basking sharks that inhabit Manx waters throughout summer and autumn.
