A walk of two circles from Windy Corner. Offering superb views of the east coast of the Island and of the Glen Roy Valley skirting the famous Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. The walk bags four summits including a local favourite Beinn-y-Phott, colloquially called Penny Pot. The footpath verges left following this summit onto the Millennium Way walking route towards the small village of Baldwin. Here you’ll spot St Luke’s Church believed to be the highest standing church on the Island with views from its door to as far as the Isle of Anglesey. At the fork in the road after the church, follow the road on the left up to the Killabane Stone Circle, the ancient site of the Manx parliament Tynwald from the 15th century.
Track the Baldwin River on your return and when you reach the moorland you will come by the rocky outcrop on your left. You’ll then take the shorter circular loop but steep climb to the top of Slieau Lhost, with extensive views over Douglas, the Baldwin Valleys before seeking out Slieau Ree to finish.
Take care when crossing the major road on the TT Mountain Course.
