Our Ingredients is.....Chillies!
Not only are we the island's only chilli farm, we also grow one of the largest ranges you'll find available anywhere in the British Isles, from the mild and sweet to the hot and fiery, from the home cooking hero to the professional chef, we have the right chilli for any dish. What's more they're all grown from seed by ourselves in Ballaugh to organic standards with no artificial fertilisers, absolutely no pesticides and zero food miles.
Our chillies feature in dozens of local products including Smoky Sams, Balls of Steel, Kionslieu Relishes and our own range of hot sauces, in dishes all over the island such as Black Dog Oven, Hawkins BBQ, Baie Mooar and Parish Pantry, plus we've even been involved with the odd cheeky collaboration with Filbey's and Fynoderee (chilli cocktails ARE A THING!) One thing is definitely for sure though...if you've tasted them, you definitely knew they were there! From this season we'll be supplying local food heroes Robinsons with Fresh Chillies as well as continuing to be a part of the Douglas Foodie Market allowing consumers to connect directly with us and ask any questions. Oh, and if you've not caught one of our Chilli Eating Competitions, keep an eye out this year, there are some exciting plans afoot, one involving a certain motorcycle race and another located in a town with a castle....
