In NatureHoliday

As the only entire jurisdiction in the world to be awarded UNESCO Biosphere status, we can argue that we may just be the BEST destination for nature lovers! With 40% of the Island remaining uninhabited, there is always something new to discover. Whether you are heading here for a romantic getaway or a getaway with the whole family, falling in love with the natural wonders of the Island will be top of your itinerary. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, get lost in a world of tangled trees at one of our 18 National Glens, where tumbling waterfalls, deep rock pools and incredible scenery await you.

FOR FUN:

Lace up your hiking boots and take on the famous ‘Raad Ny Foillan’ (Manx for ‘Way of the Gull’). This trail skirts the Island’s magnificent coastline and traverses nearly 100 miles of terrain. Experienced walkers tend to camp along the way and take on the challenge in 4 days; for us mere mortals, the trail is broken up into 12 sections and can be completed in as many days or taken at your own pace.

For dazzling displays of blooms you may also wish to visit the Milntown Gardens, where 15 acres of gardens and woodland are just waiting to be explored. In Spring the gardens are blooming with rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias, whilst in Summer and Autumn the herbaceous borders will be awash with bright and bold colours. Milntown aims to constanstly improve their gardens so you will be sure to discover something new every time you visit.

Blessed with an extensive coastline, the Isle of Man is a fantastic place to spot extroardinary animals in the wild. How about a boat trip around the Island to thrill and excite you? View the Island from a different perspective and see the wonderful wildlife that visit or live on our shores. A boat trip will provide an unforgettable addition to your #IOMstory.

FOR FOOD:

Take your meal outside - nothing is as romantic (or fun) as a meal ‘al fresco’! Grab a hamper from one of our amazing eateries and dine picnic style in one of our glens or forests or head to the coast to experience one of our many fantastic beaches. Head to the Italian Kitchen in Castletown to create a hamper designed to your liking from their delicious Italian delicatessen. If you'd rather eat indoors but still want to marvel at the Island's spectacular scenery, visit the Sound Cafe where uninterrupted views of the Calf of Man provide the perfect backdrop to your meal.

FOR DRINKS:

Try something different and grab a glass of rhubarb fizz in Port Erin at Foraging Vintners. This working winery produces non-grape based varieties of sparkling wine using local products like rhubarb, elderflower and honey and is a wonderful place to enjoy the taste of nature.

TO STAY:

Why not try out ‘Glamping’ at Knockaloe Beg Farm? Stay in a stylish wigwam as you take in the glorious Manx night sky. With 26 Official Dark Sky Discovery Sites, the most in the British Isles, the Isle of Man is the perfect place to relax under a tapestry of twinkling stars. Depending on your time of visit - you may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights! With an extensive list of accommodation on the Island, you'll find somewhere to suit all your needs.
