The Isle of Man is now welcoming back fully vaccinated visitors.
Who can travel to the Isle of Man

Spring breathes new life into the Isle of Man, bringing fresh colour to its glens, countryside and coastline. Wildflowers bloom, landscapes grow greener and longer days create even more opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Discover woodland walks, dramatic coastal scenery, fascinating heritage and nostalgic rail journeys on a three-day escape celebrating the beauty of spring on the Island.

Ease into your first morning with brunch at The Cafe at The Sound, where sweeping coastal views provide a spectacular backdrop to the start of your spring escape. Afterwards, take some time to gaze across to the Kitterland and the Calf of Man, keeping an eye out for seals along the rocky shoreline and surrounding waters. Alternatively, head to Castletown for a leisurely brunch at Stanley’s or the Charlotte de la Trémoïlle Cafe.
Next, step back in time with a visit to Castle Rushen, before wandering through Castletown’s quaint centre, taking in its historic streets and picturesque harbour.

From Castletown, hop aboard the Isle of Man Steam Railway for a nostalgic journey south to Port Erin. Once there, slow the pace with a stroll along the sweeping beach, or stretch your legs with a walk up Bradda Head to Milner’s Tower, soaking up the coastal scenery along the way.

If you’re ready to get out on the water, make the most of Port Erin’s sheltered bay with a choice of watersports; aqua biking, paddleboarding or kayaking, or keep things simple with a refreshing sea swim.
Alternatively, embrace a slower spring afternoon at Kishtey Cheh, warming up and unwinding after a day spent exploring the coast.
After an afternoon by the sea, grab pizza from La Gusto Pizza, or settle in for drinks at Foraging Vintners or The Top Bar, soaking up the laid back atmosphere beside Port Erin Bay.
Round off your first day with dinner in the south of the Island. Head to Kellas in Port St Mary, enjoy a relaxed meal at The Shore Hotel in Gansey, or return to Castletown for Smoky Sam’s BBQ or The George.
Alternatively, continue the railway theme by hopping back aboard the Isle of Man Steam Railway to Ballasalla and finishing the day with dinner at The Abbey, adding another touch of nostalgia to your spring evening.
.png)
Begin your second day on the west coast in Peel, a colourful seaside town steeped in history. Make your way to Peel Castle, dramatically positioned overlooking the sea, and spend the morning exploring this impressive Manx landmark.
Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely wander around Peel’s harbour and waterfront, taking in the coastal views and relaxed spring atmosphere before continuing south for your next adventure.
Head along the west coast to Niarbyl, where rugged cliffs and sweeping sea views provide a beautiful setting for an afternoon outdoors. Take some time to explore the coastline or pull on your walking boots and experience a section of the Raad ny Foillan, the Island’s long-distance coastal footpath.
.png)
For a longer adventure, the section between Niarbyl and Peel takes you through the picturesque surroundings of Glen Maye, combining dramatic coastal landscapes with peaceful woodland scenery.
When you’re ready to refuel, head inland to St John’s for lunch at Green’s Cafe, overlooking historic Tynwald Hill. Afterwards, slow things down with a wander around the village and its green spaces, including the Tynwald National Park and Arboretum, where a gentle stroll makes the most of the fresh colours of spring.
Alternatively, make the short trip to Tynwald Mills and browse Element Isle, picking up a locally inspired keepsake from your spring escape before continuing on to Douglas for the evening.
Finish day two in Douglas, where the Quay is a great spot to settle in for an evening meal. Enjoy seafood at Little Fish Cafe, tuck into Italian favourites at Just Pizza & Pasta, choose something plant-based at Vibe Plant Based Cafe, or opt for Asian-inspired dishes at Mrs Yang’s.
Keep the evening going with a drink nearby. Sip cocktails at Kiki Lounge, enjoy a pint at The British or The Bridge Inn, or settle in with a glass of wine at Baretto for a relaxed end to your second day.

Begin your final day with a leisurely ride along Douglas Bay on the Horse Tramway, before joining the Manx Electric Railway and travelling north to Laxey.
Once there, choose your own spring adventure. Continue upwards aboard the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a memorable journey to the summit, or stay in the village and discover one of the Island’s best-known landmarks, the Great Laxey Wheel. For something more relaxed, wander through Laxey village or make your way down to Laxey Beach and spend some time beside the sea.
.png)
Spend the afternoon discovering more of the Island’s east coast scenery. For a woodland walk, explore Laxey Glen, Dhoon Glen or Ballaglass Glen, where spring brings fresh greenery and seasonal colour to the landscape.
If you’re looking for something more challenging, swap the glens for the hills and take on a walk around North Barrule or Snaefell, making the most of the elevated scenery and fresh spring air.
Alternatively, take things at an easier pace and discover some of the area’s heritage and culture. Head to Kirk Maughold and its fascinating Cross House, or continue towards Ramsey for a visit to Milntown Estate, combining history with time spent exploring its surroundings.

Round off your three-day spring escape in Ramsey with a visit to The Fynoderee Distillery. Settle in and sample premium Manx spirits, bringing three days of rail journeys, coastal adventures, heritage and spring landscapes to a relaxed close.
