Start: Maughold Church
Finish: Laxey Promenade

On this stretch of the coast, take a farm track past a lime kiln before reaching the coast and enjoying views back to Maughold Lighthouse.

Following the route to Port Mooar a track takes you inland to country roads which offer views back over Maughold Head and beyond to the Lake District and North Cumbria. As you descend downhill take in North Barrule and follow the route through Cornaa valley to a shingle cove.

A country track takes you to the deep wooded Dhoon Glen before taking an inland road to Laxey Village where you can take in views of the bay before a descent to the small fishing harbour.

Advice and Safety Information

Undulating coastal walk with some stretches inland on country roads. As you make your way into Port Mooar, heavy erosion makes the
path hard to fi nd and sometimes very wet.

Moderate - walks for people with country walking experience and a good level of fi tness. The route will include some steep paths and open country. Walking boots and suitable clothing are essential.
