Food and drink is a large part of what makes a holiday or weekend break so special… Far from providing mere sustenance, food and drink are integral to the cultural enrichment, overall enjoyment, and relaxation of the experience, making them a cornerstone of any memorable trip.
From cultural exploration and experiencing local produce and dishes, to the social connection that sharing a meal with loved ones brings, to experiencing sensory pleasure with a variety of flavours, we understand that good food and drink should be a priority on your travels.
The Isle of Man has an abundance of delicious produce, as well as delightful food and drink establishments to tickle your taste buds and make your extraordinary visit to the Isle of Man even better.
Wine Down
Wine Down, located in the bustling Douglas City Centre, combines top-quality dishes (for sharing or not!) with over 300 fine wines, creating a perfect environment for culinary enjoyment. The senior team are all qualified to WSET Level 2 and are able to advise on the perfect pairing, and with dishes like chateaubriand, Manx fish pie, goat’s cheese soufflé, chorizo scotch egg, spiced lentil cakes, chocolate fondant and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
You might get lucky and have your visit time with one of Wine Down’s much-loved events, such as regional tastings and tasting menus for different varieties.
Kiki Lounge
Kiki Lounge, located on Douglas’s scenic North Quay, pride themselves on their expertise in cocktail making and warm Manx hospitality, and their accolades speak for themselves! In November 2024 they were recognised as one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the British Isles, and in May 2024, Kiki Lounge was awarded 1 PIN Excellent status in the inaugural The Pinnacle Guide listing. Head to this tropical style bar for exquisite drinks like the shee-groni, made with The Fynoderee Distillery’s Manx Rosag Gin, the Manx Daquiri, or the delectable queenie martini that celebrates the Island’s national dish. You can even book yourself in for a cocktail masterclass to learn the tricks of the trade.
Kiki Lounge’s food offering is quirky and fun, with small sharing plates like lasagne spring rolls, dirty martini whipped ricotta, flaming hot frickles, and birthday cake ice cream sandwiches.
Cosy Noa
Cosy Noa is located on Port Erin’s waterfront in a building formerly known as the Cosy Nook, an idyllic location for a cosy café stop. Here you can enjoy a selection of brunch favourites, including homemade pastries and coffee, beside a roaring fire. On Thursdays to Sundays you can also enjoy wonderful smoky BBQ goodness with some treats from the pop up Smoky Sam’s BBQ.
Outside the café you can find Kishtey Cheh beach spa which has an outdoor sauna and hot tub, perfect for warming up after a refreshing sea dip!
Kellas
Kellas is a stunning multi-faceted venue based in Port St Mary’s lovingly restored Manxonia House, encompassing a restaurant, café, cocktail bar, outdoor area and pantry. You can head to Kellas at any time of day and know that you’ll find something delicious to devour, whether it’s a classic brunch, homemade cake and coffee, cocktails, afternoon tea, lunch or evening meal incorporating delicious seasonal ingredients.
Kellas bonus offering is their on-site pantry that stocks fine local food and drink and gifting items. Why not pick up something quintessentially Manx to gift to your loved ones back home?
The Fynoderee Distillery
The Fynoderee Distillery is an authentic craft distillery located in Ramsey. Specialising in gin, vodka, whiskey and rum, Fynoderee is dedicated to producing premium spirits with genuine Manx roots and heritage, with each spirit bottled in stunning packaging that incorporates Manx folk tales and lore.
Fynoderee’s most recent spirit, Refuge Manx Rum, was matured on the Island’s historic ship rescue tower, the Tower of Refuge, and donates 20% of the sale price to RNLI, to commemorate 200 years since the formation of RNLI by Sir William Henry on the Isle of Man.
Head to the distillery’s Fyn Bar to enjoy a Manx tipple, whether you prefer to take your spirits neat or incorporated into a unique cocktail, the stylish bar is a lovely environment to enjoy some drinks with friends and family. What’s more, you can take home a bottle or two of your favourite spirit from the on-site shop, whether you gift it to loved ones or keep it for yourself is up to you!
