About
The Manx Mountain Marathon takes runners on a hilly journey from Ramsey in the north of the Isle of Man to Port Erin in the south, mixing trails, open moorland and clifftop paths. The Half Mountain Marathon covers the final section of the same route. The MMM is a challenging, unmarked, point to point fell race (not a marked trail race or an overnight orienteering style 'mountain marathon'). It was first contested in 1970, and 2027 will be the 55th race. Distance – Just under 50km ('Marathon') and just under 22km ('Half Marathon')
Ascent – 2600m (Marathon) 1100m (Half Marathon). The full Mountain Marathon is sponsored by Capital International while Timber Garden Buildings IoM sponsor the Half Manx Mountain Marathon. The Manx Mountain Marathon is a counter for the Callin Wild Manx Fell Running League.
