About

Pilgrimage Isle of Man will inspire you to explore treasured places and pilgrimage routes of the Isle of Man which have been enriched by the faith journeys of those who have gone before us.

THE TRISKELION WAY TRAIL

The Triskelion Trail is a 36-mile trail - in 7 sections - extending from Rushen Abbey in the south to Maughold in the north, via Peel.  It offers the pilgrim varied walking conditions, glorious countryside and coastal views and historically significant places - for example the spectacular Spooyt Vane waterfall, and 9th century Keeill Pheric (Patrick's chapel)

THE RAAD NY FOILLAN TRAIL

The Raad Ny Foillan Pilgrimage trail - in 12 sections - largely follows the Way of the Gull, the Island's coastal path which celebrated 30 years in 2016, and includes  the remains of Celtic-Norse keeills (chapels) and carved crosses found on or near the Island's cliffs, glens and beaches.  Completing the whole circuit represents a 5 day challenge of over 100 miles for experienced walkers, but its' 12 sections allow individual stages to be explored.

CROSSROADS

Breathtaking views and historically significant places, with their ruins and remains telling the story of those who have gone before, are there for everyone to discover. Crossroads trails guide road users to key faith heritage sites accessible by car, bike or public transport.

Pilgrimage Isle of Man will soon be adding a rich treasury of material for meditation - from sources including the Celtic Saints and Manx National Poet T.E. Brown - we hope these will be of interest to those following the routes to make an actual spiritual pilgrimage, as well as to those making an "armchair pilgrimage" by browsing the photographs on this site.
