If you are looking to make improvements to your tourism property or business, there may be financial assistance available to you.

Business Adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2017 Developing a New Hostel Developing a New Permanent Camping or Glamping Site Extending or Expanding Your Product
Making External Visual Improvements to Your Property Becoming Energy Efficient Upgrading Your Star Rating

Business Adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2017

An accessibility grant of up to £7,500 towards making adjustments to your business that will improve accessibility to your products or services. Includes permanent modifications to on-premise areas such as doors and ramps, as well as website modifications

Developing a New Hostel

A grant between 25-40% towards the development of a new hostel with connected outdoor activities

Developing a New Permanent Camping or Glamping Site

  • A grant between 25-40% towards the development of an exisiting permanent campsite

  • A grant between 25-40% towards the development of existing alternative accommodation sites, including yurts, log cabins, pods, treehouses and safari tents.

Extending or Expanding Your Product

Up to 50% funding for travel and tourism businesses who are looking to innovate and adapt their business model to seek new avenues of business and/or provide their products or services in a new way. This could include modifying facilities, the purchase of new equipment, vehicles and systems and rent on any additional space leased as a part of the adaptation

Making External Visual Improvements to Your Property

Up to 50% funding (capped at £25,000 until October 2021) towards the improvement of the external visual appearance of your property such as signage, glass frontage, outdoor lighting, painting and rendering, landscaping and planting and outdoor seating areas.(excludes repairs and maintenance)

Becoming Energy Efficient

  • Up to 50% towards an energy audit to determine your business’ energy efficiency and cost effective alternatives

  • Up to £20,000 100% interest-free unsecured loans towards energy efficiency projects, including lighting, heating, solar panelling, wind turbines and electric vehicle charging points

Upgrading Your Star Rating

A grant of up to 20% towards the improvement of an existing serviced visitor accommodation to become a 3* and above property (excluding B&Bs and self-catering)
