Nelson's Cottage

About

Nelson’s Cottage is a charming traditional Manx stone cottage providing self-catering holiday accommodation in Sunset City otherwise known as Peel on the west coast of the Isle of Man. It is located in the heart of Peel Conservation Area, very conveniently close to the beach, harbour, pubs, restaurants and shops.

The cottage was first shown on a map dating back to the 1780's and has recently been fully refurbished but contains many original characterful features. We cater for adults and children over 5 years old (to a maximum of 4 people) in 2 very comfortable bedrooms- one king sized and one double. We warmly welcome small/medium size dogs (subject to a couple of house rules please) or larger service dogs. We can accommodate flexible stays but the minimum is 2 nights.

At ground floor level there is a comfortable lounge with a wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen/ dining room. There is a small outside seating area and secure storage available for a couple of cycles or smaller/ lighter off road bikes. At first floor level are 2 bedrooms and a compact bathroom with bath and overbath electric shower. Free WiFi is available (reasonable usage cap).

The cottage is located directly on a narrow one way street, Market Street. Little traffic passes the cottage (approximately 6 vehicles per hour during daytime, more during TT). The cottage is located on double yellow lines but you can park directly outside whilst offloading luggage. Long term parking is available either in the centre of Peel approximately 70 yards away or on the promenade, again approximately 60 yards away. The property is strictly non-smoking/vaping for everyone’s comfort. Due to the relatively small size and layout of the cottage and 12 fairly steep steps to the first floor level bedrooms and bathroom accommodation, unfortunately the cottage is not suitable to accommodate full time wheelchair users.  If you have mobility issues, please let us know your specific requirements and we will endeavour to accommodate your request where possible. We do not supply specialist equipment for young children.

As the proof of the pudding is in the eating, please let us show you 2 recent reviews:

"Practically perfect in every way! Beautiful historic property on one of Peel’s smartest streets, seconds from the waterfront and equally close to local shops and restaurants. The cottage is truly a home from home and so cosy and comfortable, and stylishly decorated. Beds extremely comfortable and we all slept perfectly. Naomi was extremely friendly and responsive, and went above and beyond with thoughtful touches. We really didn’t want to leave! Really recommend the walk to Corrin’s tower, sunsets over Fenella beach, and stargazing at Peel Castle walls :-)"

"The little touches were so good, the biscuits for our dog, the fire ready to use on the first night. Best of all was the bed, it was so comfortable. It made it all such a great trip."
