About

The Glaicke Beg is a newly renovated, detached Manx stone barn, set in the beautiful surroundings of Ballaugh, next to the Ravensdale river and offers self-catering accommodation for 2 people.

Only 500yds from the famous Ballaugh bridge, this accommodation offers everything that the discerning visitor would require.

A Welcome Pack containing: tea / sugar / coffee / milk / bread / eggs / butter is complimentary

Set on two floors, the accommodation comprises:

Ground floor: a large bedroom with a super king sized bed, or it can be set up as a twin room. There is a dressing table, bedside table and a wardrobe. An en-suite shower room with a large electric shower, toilet, wash basin, heated towel rail and washing machine. An Iron / ironing board / hairdryer are available and washing can be tumble dried on request. There is underfloor heating throughout the lower floor

There are both internal and external steps which lead to the upper floor

Upper floor: has a fully fitted kitchen / diner with microwave, oven, two ring induction hob, air fryer, extractor fan, fridge, kettle, crockery, cutlery, dining table and plenty of cupboard space. A quaint stable door leads off the kitchen to the outside steps.

The lounge area has a log burner, which will be laid on arrival with unlimited kindling / logs available throughout your stay. There is an electric radiator should you not wish to light the fire. A Smart TV set up for Freesat / apps etc with free WiFi. There is a leather armchair, two seater leather settee and footstool, which contains a number of games.
The barn is set in the yard of the main house where off road parking is available. Outside dining is possible with your own terrace seating area, table and chairs and use of a gas BBQ.

This is a No Smoking / No vaping property.

Ballaugh village has many facilities including:

Post Office,
Bus Stops with regular services towards Ramsey in the north and Peel / Douglas west and south.
Church,
Bowling Green,
Public toilets,
Dis-used railway 

Bookings

The minimum number of nights to be booked for TT and the Manx Festival of Motor Racing is 5, unless otherwise agreed with the owners.
A 20% deposit is to be paid at the time of booking. This is non-refundable if cancellation is within 2 weeks of the due date of arrival.
Full payment to be made on arrival.

Rates: 

TT and Manx Festival of Motor Racing:  £150 per night  

All other times:  £150 per night for stays up to 5 nights,  discounted to £130 / night for bookings of 6 nights or more

Public Transport Directions

The Glaicke Beg is situated 500yds up Ballaugh Glen. Turn up the Glen road between the bridge and the Raven Pub, pass the campsite on your left, stay on the lane and The Glaicke is the next white house on the right with black metal gates.

The accommodation is inside the TT course and roads are closed during practice and racing. However, there is an escape route via Druidale, over the mountain through to Douglas, for access to the south of the island / ferry terminal / airport etc during race periods.
