Visiting the Isle of Man - key things to know

Dunluce

Dunluce

About

Perched above Ballure Beach with sweeping views across the Irish Sea, Dunluce is one of the Isle of Man's most remarkable homes. This beautifully restored Victorian Gothic residence blends rich heritage with contemporary comfort, offering a truly unique escape just a short stroll from the heart of Ramsey.

Set within approximately one acre of mature private gardens, Dunluce provides an exceptional setting for family holidays, special celebrations, TT stays or peaceful coastal retreats. Combining elegant period architecture with thoughtfully updated interiors, this is a home where history and luxury sit effortlessly side by side.

Originally built in 1871, Dunluce has been lovingly restored to retain its stunning Victorian character while offering everything guests need for a comfortable modern stay.

Inside, you'll discover beautifully proportioned rooms with high ceilings, large windows and an abundance of natural light. Original features including stained-glass windows, decorative plasterwork, ornate fireplaces, encaustic tiled flooring and timber floors create an atmosphere of timeless elegance, while recent renovations have introduced a contemporary kitchen, stylish bathrooms, underfloor heating and high-speed Wi-Fi.

Whether gathering together in the reception rooms, enjoying family meals or relaxing with a morning coffee in the conservatory, Dunluce offers plenty of space for everyone to unwind.

The grounds are every bit as impressive as the house itself.

Winding pathways lead through beautifully landscaped gardens, mature trees and peaceful glen-style planting, creating a wonderfully private setting just moments from the coast. Multiple seating areas provide the perfect place to enjoy the fresh sea air, while panoramic views stretch across Ballure Beach, Queen's Pier and the Irish Sea.

Guests have exclusive use of the extensive gardens, courtyard and private gated parking throughout their stay.

Dunluce enjoys an enviable location on the outskirts of Ramsey, with the town centre just a short walk away. Independent cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops are all within easy reach, while many of the Isle of Man's most popular attractions are close by.

For motorsport enthusiasts, the famous TT Course passes just a five-minute walk from the property, making Dunluce an exceptional base during race fortnight.

Dunluce is more than simply a beautiful holiday home. As one of the Isle of Man's finest Victorian residences, it occupies a special place in the Island's heritage. Historic records and photographs are preserved within the Manx Museum archives, and during the Second World War the house played a fascinating role, accommodating several notable wartime internees.

Today, guests have the rare opportunity to experience this remarkable property while enjoying all the comforts of a thoughtfully restored luxury home.

Whether you're discovering the Island for the first time, returning for TT, or simply looking for somewhere truly memorable to stay, Dunluce offers an unforgettable blend of history, elegance and coastal tranquillity.
