About

Sulby Community Hall is a light and airy centrally heated community hall licensed for up to 30 people. You will need a sleeping bag and lilo and you could bring a pop up tent if you wish, to give you privacy. From our booking sheet you will notice some days of the week are unavailable. These are reserved for local clubs who use our hall on a regular basis. If you booking coincides with one of these dates, please enquire as our local users are prepared to give up their place for hostel users.

Road Directions

Our Community Hall is situated on the Clenagh Road, just of the TT course (A3 Main road) in the heart of Sulby.

a. Mountain Road Route,

Exit Ferry Terminal and go straight across the roundabout. Drive along Douglas Promenade, past the Gaiety Theatre, keeping in the left hand lane.  At The Villa Marina and traffic lights filter left. 100 yards on up hill at next traffic lights turn right (Victoria Rd).  Cross mini- roundabout with Shoprite supermarket on left.  Turn right at the next roundabout then quickly left at the following roundabout.  Go up the hill and turn left at roundabout.  This will bring you onto the Mountain road (A18).   Drive past the first left exit to Kirk Michael. Take the next left exit  (A14) to Sulby (6 1/2 miles), at the mountain electric train station, just past the pedestrian overhead bridge.  Drive past the reservoir down to two tight hairpin bends at Tholt-y-Will and drive through Sulby Glen.  At the bottom you will see some old houses and "Butterflies Nursery" on your right. Continue on this road until you come to the crossroads. (A3 TT course) You will see a shop of your left and the Sulby Glen Hotel opposite. Drive straight on at this junction onto the Clenagh Road and 50metres along on the right hand side you will see our Community Hall. Drive through to the rear car park. Your have arrived.

During TT fortnight the mountain road is One-Way from Ramsey to Douglas. therefore use route b. -  TT course via Glen Helen

On leaving the ferry terminal, immediately turn left and follow the signs to Peel via the A1.  Join the TT course at Quarterbridge and keep on the A1 to Ballacraine for about 7 miles following  the sign to Ramsey.  Turn right and drive through Glen Helen, Kirk Michael and Ballaugh. About 2 miles from Ballaugh you will see the Wildlife Park on your left and you come to a couple of bends (the Quarry Bends).  You will soon reach the 40mph zone. Shortly after these signs you will see a crossroads, with the Sulby Glen Hotel on the left and a corner shop opposite. Turn left at this junction onto Clenagh Road. 50metres along on the right hand side you will see our Community Hall. Drive through to the rear car park. Your have arrived.

d.From The Airport

On leaving the airport turn left. Follow the A5 to Castletown and turn right at the roundabout.  Turn right again at the next roundabout. At the traffic lights turn right onto the A3. Follow this road for about 9 miles.  Go straight across the traffic lights at Ballacraine where you join the TT course.  Continue along this road through Glen Helen, Kirk Michael and Ballaugh. About 2 miles out of Ballaugh, you will see the Wildlife Park on your left and you come to a couple of bends (The Quarry Bends).  You will soon reach the 40mph zone.
