About

Mooragh Park in Ramsey is a popular attraction with visitors and residents alike.

The park boasts excellent leisure facilities which visitors of all ages will appreciate including a 12 acre boating lake which hosts a wide range of watersport activities throughout the year.

Try your hand at canoeing, kayaking or sailing – you can hire the boats and go it alone or sign up for a session led by an experienced instructor from the Venture Centre.

If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land you’ll find tennis courts, a bowling green, BMX track and a crazy golf course as well as a children’s playground and special water play area.

Mooragh Park also has excellent picnic facilities as well as a cafe and restaurant. Ramsey town centre is only a short walk away and is well worth a visit if you’re looking to stretch your legs.

Dark Sky Site

Mooragh Park Promenade is also registered as a Dark Skies Site and an Interpretation Board ensures that visitors can fully enjoy the stunning stargazing on offer.

The Island is ideally placed to see the magnificent sight of the Northern Lights on many occasions. The Northern lights are normally only seen from Northerly locations such as Alaska, Norway and Iceland, however the crystal clear Northern horizon from the Islands North eastern coast means this fascinating phenomenon can often be seen from the Island. The Manx Night sky is an amazing experience that will astound even the most experienced stargazer.

Home to currently 26 of the British Isles Dark sky discovery sites, the Isle of Man has some of the darkest skies in Europe.
