About

At Photography Escapes we offer a unique, specialist activity holiday, here in the Isle of Man. You would stay with us in our four star, silver awarded, Bed & Breakfast home in Colby. A comfortable lounge & dining area, spacious bathroom, and a delightful double bedded bedroom are all available for the sole use of our guests. We cater for two people maximum, at any one time. Breakfast is sourced from local Manx produce, wherever possible, and is both delicious & plentiful.

Our photography holiday dates are flexible to suit yourselves, however we do ask that for every two days of your visit, you enjoy one day's instruction.
Instruction may be photographing landscapes, sunsets, or maybe studio or photoshop work - the decision is entirely yours!

Customers travel in style in our six seater, Mercedes minibus. There is ample room for passengers and a large selection of equipment. We are able to supply a wheelchair, if necessary. We offer a complimentary collection and delivery service to and from the local airport and sea port.

Your guide David, is an accomplished and well respected photographer throughout the industry. He is a regular speaker, judge and educator at many prestigious events and societies throughout the world. Achievements include many gold award winning images with major renowned societies.

You will be in capable hands!

Road Directions

Ballavere Cottage is situated in the south of the Island, and in the centre of the delightful village of Colby. Although easy to find, a pdf document is available to guests, with directions to our door. Ample off road parking is available on our driveway, and the local pub and shop are just a ten minute walk. A postcode in a sat nav system will not help you find us unfortunately.

Public Transport Directions

Ballavere Cottage has bus stops within twenty metres of the front door. The clean, modern bus fleet run north to Douglas and south to Port Erin, every fifteen to twenty minutes.

The village of Colby enjoys a delightful steam railway station, with seasonal services to both Douglas and Port Erin, four times a day. The station is just a five minute walk form Ballavere Cottage.

By car, Ballavere Cottage is just ten minutes from Ronaldsway Airport and thirty minutes from the Douglas Ferry Terminal.
