About

Dandy Rigg Cottage is a traditional Manx cottage, known as a 'tholtan' which has been modernised to a comfortable three-star holiday cottage, located in the quiet countryside of the south of the Isle of Man. Located on the south facing hillside above Colby village the cottage setting is ideal for a peaceful retreat. From the garden enjoy panoramic views across and out to sea. On a clear day you can even make out the hills of the Welsh coastline from the grounds of the cottage.

The cottage has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. There is free wifi throughout the cottage.

Though secluded, it is within 3 miles of the ancient capital of Mann, Castletown, picturesque Port St Mary, and the popular seaside village of Port Erin with its sheltered bay and sandy beach. Douglas is ten miles away, and the Airport just four miles.

Vehicles may be parked to the front of the cottage on a quiet country lane.

In Colby itself there is a well-stocked Spar shop providing groceries and newspapers. This is adjacent to the local public house, The Colby Glen which is approximately two miles away.

The nearest bus stop is Colby, less than half a mile away. There are regular buses to the south, and Douglas.

Local transport also includes a narrow gauge steam railway which runs from Port Erin to Douglas with a halt at Colby. This is an experience not to be missed!
