Welcome to Creg ny Geay, perfectly situated for your seaside holiday.

Located just 5 minutes to the south of Ramsey, this substantial four bedroom Edwardian house built around 1910 in the Arts and Crafts style commands panoramic sea views from its stunning coastal position.  Sleeping up to six, whilst retaining its original features, the property has been sympathetically modernised to a high standard to provide very comfortable accommodation and it is furnished with an eclectic mix of modern, retro and antique furniture and original artwork.  The White Company bed linen, towels and bathroom products are supplied.  

The house has oil-fired central heating, with a solar panel providing hot water.

Creg ny Geay is ideally placed for the beach, with two beaches within the Ramsey Bay Marine Nature Reserve only 5 minutes walk away.  A wide range of interests are catered for in the local area including water/adventure sports, a variety of interesting walks, golf, fishing and bird watching. The Victorian Manx Electric Railway line is approximately 10 minutes walk from the house.  

Nearby Ramsey provides a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, a modern swimming pool, ten-pin bowling and the Mooragh Park, a 12 acre lake with facilities ranging from boats, children's playground, tennis, BMX track, bowls and crazy golf.

Road Directions

DIRECTIONS FROM THE SEA TERMINAL, DOUGLAS

From the Sea Terminal, at the first roundabout immediately leaving the Sea Terminal, go right and into the left hand lane heading for the sea front promenade.  At the next roundabout after 30m, turn left on to Douglas Promenade (A11). 

Continue along the entire Promenade and then staying on the A11 you remain on the coast road passing through Onchan and Groudle until you reach the junction of the main Douglas – Ramsey road (A2).

Continue on the A2 and you will pass through Laxey and then Glen Mona.  Approximately 2 miles to the south of Ramsey, you will descend a steep hill with distant sea views.  After another approximately 400m from the bottom of the hill, you will pass a brown site on the right “Venture Centre”.  Remaining on the A2, after a further 600m you will pass a white house on the roadside and immediately after the house, turn sharply off the A2 on to the A15 towards Maughold village.  

Continue down the hill, crossing the tram line at Bellevue and at the bottom of the hill passing Port Lewaigue Close on your right, The Colony is the first turning on the left after 200m just before a house called Gatehouse with a red roof. Continue along The Colony for approximately 150m and Creg ny Geay is found at the end of the cul-de-sac. 

 

DIRECTIONS FROM RONALDSWAY AIRPORT

On exiting the airport, turn right on to the A5 in the direction of Douglas.  At Ballasalla, turn right at the roundabout keeping on the A5.  Continue on the A5 towards Douglas for approximately 6 miles.  At the first roundabout, keep in the right hand lane and turn right following the signs for the harbour/ferry. 

After approximately 1.5 miles, continue straight on at the first two roundabouts along the quay side.  At the third roundabout, turn left and continue over the bridge and then keeping in the right hand lane, go straight ahead at the next mini-roundabout and then right at the next roundabout into Bath Place.  Then keep in the left lane for the next roundabout – you will see the Sea Terminal directly ahead of you – and turn left.  After another 50m, turn left onto Douglas Promenade.

Public Transport Directions

Public transport links are available via the seasonal historic Manx Electric Railway (MER) service to Ramsey, Laxey and Douglas, the Belle Vue stop situated approximately 0.5 mile from the property.  From Laxey, the Snaefell Mountain Railway can take you to the highest point on the island. 

Bus services (Service 3) to Ramsey and Douglas - and onwards from Douglas to Castletown/Port St Mary and Port Erin (Services 1, 11 and 12) - are available approximately 0.7 mile from the property.  A steam train service also operates from Douglas to Port Erin.  See https://www.iombusandrail.im/ for detailed timetables.
