Ellan Vannin

About

Ellan Vannin is one of a collection of refurbished listed buildings in an historic area of Castletown in the south of the Isle of Man. Adjoining the Bailey Scott designed former Police station and right next to Castle Rushen, a medieval castle once the home to the Kings and Lords of Mann the area is steeped in history. Overlooking the harbour and waterfront, cross over the footbridge in front of the property and you'll find the Nautical museum. Uncover the story of the inventive George Quayle and his most significant surviving creation Peggy, the earliest known example of a British armed yacht.

Ellan Vannin has been lovingly refurbished to a very high standard, with 3 bedrooms and a comfortable open plan lounge and dining area providing a great space for socialising and entertaining. A rooftop terrace (with outdoor heater) overlooking the harbour and castle provides a welcome spot to enjoy a drink or two whilst watching the world go by. Next door is Packet House, which sleeps 4 so could be booked together for a larger group.

Castletown is a great base for a holiday, just 5 minutes from the airport and with a wide range of bars, restaurants and cafes close by. The historic Steam Railway runs through the town connecting it with the islands capital, Douglas and the seaside villages of Port Erin and Port St Mary.

Ellan Vannin is managed by local Isle of Man holiday cottage agency Island Escapes. Please visit their website to make a booking.
