A spectacular walk through towns, along rivers, coastline and beaches, with castles and museums on the way.
Walk past an ancient chapel and burial, reaching Kirk Santon. At Port Grenaugh join the Raad ny Foillan passing Santon Gorge, crossing the stream (if low tide). You'll soon join a minor road to Derbyhaven continuing on the the island's ancient capital, Castletown. Make a day of it, take a picnic and just enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.
Castletown Station is just a few minutes walk from the harbour along the river.
Advice and Safety Information
At high tide walk inland and cross the stream via the footbridge.
Moderate - walks for people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness. The route will include some steep paths and open country.
Walking boots and suitable clothing are essential.
