Visiting the Isle of Man - key things to know

Tre@Westminster_Residence

Type:Self-Catering

Main living room with sofas and armchairs to comfortably sit 8 persons

About

Conveniently located in upper Douglas with the TT Course, restaurants, pubs and amenities within a short walking distance, Tre@Westminster_Residence is a spacious holiday home built upon a late Victorian townhouse. Its interior has been carefully preserved and designed with an aim of infusing a nostalgic mood into your holidays. Despite this, key facilities in bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms have been modernized to ensure the highest degree of comfort and convenience. We even provide electric-gated parking and EV charging facilities inside the premises so you may travel around to enjoy the beauty of the island without hassle.

The house is laid out over three floors. The ground floor consists of a living room with sofas and armchairs to comfortably sit 8 adults, a dining room, and a kitchen with access to a patio and gated parking area (good for 1 medium sized cars/small van or a fleet of motorcycles). The first floor houses the master bedroom and a guest bedroom both with super king-size beds, a junior bedroom with a bunk bed, a guest toilet as well as a large family bathroom with both a bathtub and a walk-in shower. The second floor is almost like a standalone unit designed specifically for young couples. It is fitted with a fully equipped open-plan lounge/kitchen and an en-suite bedroom with a king-size bed. Upon request, each of the super king size beds on the first floor can be converted into two single size beds.

Walking into the house you can see loads of original features that have been sitting in there for over 100 years. These include Victorian floor tiles, stripped pine flooring, ornate ceiling rose, cast iron fireplaces (for display only), exposed Manx stone walls and exposed wooden roof beams. These have been carefully matched with vintage furniture, lighting, art, and decorative items which hopefully can help to make every stay a memorable experience.

Map & Directions

Road Directions

Our house is in upper Douglas at the junction between Alexander Drive and Primrose Avenue.

Public Transport Directions

If arriving by the Isle of Man Steam Packet ferry, it is only a 6-minute drive by car/taxi or a 27-minute walk from the Sea Terminal. If arriving by the Ronaldsway Airport in the south, it takes about 19 minutes by car or taxi.

As parking is not allowed on the road facing the front entrance, the nearest drop-off point would be the junction between Alexander Drive and Primrose Avenue. It takes a short half-minute walk to reach the front entrance of the property which is facing Alexander Drive.

Our house can also be easily reached by public buses that serve Alexander Drive (routes 4B/14B) and Woodbourne Road (eg. routes 3, 11, 22H, 25H) from downtown Douglas (ie. Lord Street). The bus stop near Alexander Drive is at Selbourne Road All Saints Church, which is only 2 minutes’ walk to our house. For Woodbourne Road, simply get off near Woodbourne Square and walk-up Alexander Drive from there for about 5 minutes. Our house is on the left-hand side after passing All Saints Church and Primrose Avenue. Bus routes, time and fare tables can be found in the Isle of Man Transport website (https://www.iombusandrail.im/). We also find the interactive journey planner on Traveline useful (https://www.traveline.info/).
