Visit Isle of Man and Homestay IOM Limited are reminding residents to register for the Isle of Man Homestay Scheme ahead of the 2025 TT, Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix season. The deadline for registration is Wednesday 30th April 2025, and all properties must be registered by this date to benefit from the scheme.
The Isle of Man Homestay Scheme is operated by Homestay IOM Limited on behalf of Visit Isle of Man and provides Isle of Man households with the opportunity to host paying visitors for the TT Races, Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix. For the signature TT Races, hosts could earn up to £2,350 tax-free income by registering their property.
Fees for registration are £65 for one year, or £95 for two years. Homestay registration is compulsory for any private household wishing to host paying visitors during the TT, Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix periods to ensure quality standards are met, aligning with targets outlined in Visit Isle of Man’s ten-year Visitor Economy Strategy, ‘Our Island, Our Future’, to ensure the Isle of Man delivers an exceptional experience for all visitors.
Deborah Heather, CEO of Visit Isle of Man, commented:
‘During the TT and MGP periods, the Isle of Man attracts thousands of visitors from around the world, leading to an increase in accommodation demand. The Isle of Man Homestay Scheme helps contribute to meeting this demand by enabling residents to open their homes and provide temporary accommodation during these peak times.
‘The Scheme has operated successfully for many years and is a vital part of the Island’s event infrastructure. Every additional Homestay property means more people can experience the warm Manx welcome and hospitality the Island is so well known for.’
John Keggin, Director of Homestay IOM Limited, added:
‘We’re delighted to see a strong uptake in registrations this year. In 2024, we had 680 registered properties, this year we’re already approaching 700 and are aiming to reach 750 by the end of April. This growth is hugely important for the Isle of Man as we continue to welcome more visitors for TT and MGP, offering welcoming, comfortable and affordable places to stay while providing hosts with a unique opportunity to earn tax-free income and meet new people.’
