Since being formed in March 2020, just after the start of the first lockdown, the Manx Solidarity Fund has been supporting residents and local organisations facing financial difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, it has provided over £450,000 of support.

While some sections of the economy have readjusted, those involved with the Manx Solidarity Fund are acutely aware that the ongoing border restrictions are having a devastating effect on businesses linked to the visitor economy. Even with Government support, many businesses and individuals will be under extreme financial pressure with the 2021 summer season unlikely to happen as it stands.

If a business within the tourism or hospitality sector is currently experiencing serious pressures on their finances or on their ability to retain staff as a direct result of the pandemic, the Manx Solidarity Fund may be a source of help.

As with any grant support, there is an application to be completed and a rigorous due diligence process undertaken on every application. This is to ensure that the Fund complies with its legal obligations as a charity.

If all application documentation and information is completed and submitted in a timely and accurate manner, decisions can be made within a week or two of the application being submitted.
