Road Directions

The Museum is on the A5 road between the airport and Castletown in the south of the island. Approaching from the north via Ballasalla, take the A5 towards Castletown and go straight ahead at both the airport roundabouts with the airport on your left.  The entrance to the museum is on the left about 120 metres after the second roundabout, marked by large signs.

From Castletown, take the A5 road towards Douglas. On your right you will see the entrance to the playing fields and buildings of King William’s College. The museum entrance is on your right, 400 metres past the entrance to the College.

Public Transport Directions

Heading south from Douglas there are bus stops at the Airport and about 200 metres beyond the museum. It is no more than a 10 minute walk from either stop.

Heading north from Castletown there are bus stops about 200 metres south of the museum and at the Airport. It is no more than a 10 minute walk from either stop.

Taxis are widely available from most centres of population and from the airport.

There are Steam Railway stations at Ballasalla (30 mins walk) and Castletown (20 mins walk) and a request stop at Ronaldsway Halt. If you wish to alight there, advise the Guard before leaving your departure station.

Entry is free. The museum is a charity, run by volunteers, and receives no official funding so donations are welcomed to help cover the operating costs and to help in maintaining the exhibits and the development of new exhibitions and facilities.

    A little museum with A high level of artifacts and information on WW1 onwards. They also cover general Manx aviation history. The ww2 guns where my favourite bit especially as a fan of battlefield 5. Read full review
