Distance: 22 km / 14 miles
Start: Castletown Harbour
Finish: Peel Castle
Castletown to Peel was the route once taken by Manx fishermen between the two key ports.
Start at Castletown Harbour and follow the Silverburn River up to Ballasalla. For the first three miles the route follows the Millennium Way, before diverging after Silverdale Glen. From here, travel in the northwesterly direction through the Cringle Plantation, before ascending to the height of 150m at the Round Table at the foot of South Barrule.
From here, follow the path as it weaves through the Lhargey and Arrasey plantations and continue north downhill through Glen Mooar along the coastline to the small village of Glen Maye, where you can enter the glen and marvel at the captivating waterfall before continuing on down to the beach.
At Glen Maye Beach, it joins the Raad ny Foillan (coastal footpath) into Peel, where you'll head along the cliff tops towards Corrin's Folly with its outstanding views before dropping down to Peel Castle on St Patrick's Isle.
