Why not take a trip to the fishing hotspot of Peel where you can tour Moore’s Traditional Curers, a working factory that has been curing Manx kippers for over 100 years! You’ll see the full kippering process which involves hanging the fish in large chimneys to be smoked.
Local producers also create sweet treats, which are great gifts to take home with you! The Original Manx Fudge Factory in Ballasalla which makes fudge, toffee and chocolates using as many local ingredients as possible. Learn about the manufacturing processes involved with making the confectionary and sample over 20 different flavours of fudge.
If you need something to wash it all down with visit one of our local breweries, Okells, Bushy's or the Hooded Ram Brewing Company. These award winning breweries have been producing ales for more than 100 years and supply many of the Island’s pubs. Find out more about the strict brewing laws which forbid the use of additives and enjoy an opportunity to taste some of the speciality beers in the bar!
