Visit Isle of Man have announced the next round of digital marketing and social media training workshops for the benefit of businesses in the local tourism industry. The next five workshops, which have been developed in direct response to industry feedback, will build on the success of the workshops held earlier this year and will continue to review ways in which businesses can use digital and social channels to enhance their marketing to attract more customers.

As part of Visit Isle of Man’s aim to realise the fullest economic growth potential of the Island as a visitor destination, initiatives like these workshops have been developed to enable the Agency and Industry to work collaboratively towards achieving increased visitor numbers and the corresponding economic benefits. In the past 12 months alone, the agency has hosted 16 workshops and drop-in events, with Alison’s social media sessions benefitting over 50 individuals from tourism businesses across the Island.

Hosted by Alison Teare, Owner and Director of Simply Marketing Ltd, the sessions are open to local businesses or individuals who are involved in offering visitor accommodation, attractions or events.

Angela Byrne, Head of Visit Isle of Man, commented:

‘As a qualified marketer and social media expert, we’re delighted to have Alison return to host a further series of free digital marketing workshops for tourism businesses.  Highly experienced, her expert guidance on social media training, planning and strategy, has been well received by industry having received some fantastic feedback from the sessions held earlier this year.

‘It’s been wonderful to see so many businesses actively using the skills and knowledge they learnt to maximise new digital opportunities and complement the Island’s tourism strategy which looks to establish and promote the Isle of Man as a quality visitor destination for our target audiences. Following the success of previous workshops the last five are booking up quickly, with one now fully subscribed so we would advise interested parties to secure a place on the sessions as soon as possible.’

Sessions have been structured to be interactive to help businesses understand how they can achieve a positive return on their digital marketing efforts regardless of their size, budget or marketing goals, with the next workshop being held on Tuesday 10th September between 6pm – 9pm at the iMuseum in Douglas, focusing on how to use video to market your tourism business.

Further sessions with space still available will also be held on the following dates:
