The Department for Enterprise is moving forward with the development of four Executive Agencies and is now seeking to appoint an outstanding business leader to Chair its Visit Isle of Man Executive Agency board.

This role offers a unique opportunity to become a vital part of an exciting public-private partnership approach to the development of the visitor economy.

The Visit Isle of Man agency board will have delegated powers from the Minister for Enterprise, enabling them to leverage the private sector expertise and knowledge and create a partnership approach to product development, policy input and promotion.

"Today’s announcement is a significant milestone in the development of the new Department and the formation of the Executive Agencies. We have received positive support and encouragement from across the Island’s industry sectors and key representatives from trade associations and professional, member-based organisations, alongside the professional input from other government departments.

Created as public/private partnerships, the Agencies will be decision making bodies tasked with creating an environment where our economy thrives and key sectors of our industry are supported. The transformation of the Department began last year and we are now entering the final stages of resourcing and launching the agency structure.

As we continue to shape our Island of Enterprise and Opportunity, the Department will be looking for key individuals to ensure our modern department meets the needs of a fast-evolving, modern economy. The newly created roles will give us the influence and guidance to navigate the complex and diverse economy of the Island, bringing a shared vision and strategy for the Isle of Man."

Key responsibilities for the role will include; Providing effective leadership and strategic direction to form a cohesive and focused Board, Acting as an ambassador for the Agency, influencing and collaborating with other Agencies, Government Departments key stakeholders, including professional bodies, businesses, associations and regulators and Gaining and retaining the confidence of a wide range of stakeholders including businesses, professional bodies and associations, regulators, media and other government departments.

The Department are looking for a passionate individual with significant experience and achievements in business that embodies the Department’s four core values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Innovation. They must have experience and achievement at a senior management level, non-executive or executive company director relevant to the Visitor Economy sector and be an excellent communicator and networker with effective influencing, negotiating and conciliation skills.
