There’s a number of mountain bike trails which cater for all levels of ability and fitness from short plantation circuits to all day routes combining steep hills and vast downhill stretches. No matter which route you take, at some point you’ll want to stop and recharge your tired muscles.
The Cyclists Welcome Scheme has been developed for visitors with an interest in active holidays. If you’re planning a trip to the Isle of Man with your road or mountain bike, it’s worth being aware of the cycling friendly eateries available throughout the Island for when you need to rest, refuel and recharge.
Establishments that are identified as cycling-friendly offer a range of additional facilities and services to help make your rest stop more comfortable. At these cafés, pubs and restaurants, you’ll also find facilities for washing your bike and equipment, plus handy little extras like puncture repair kits and first aid kits.
All our cycling-friendly eateries are flexible, offering snacks and meals throughout the day so you don’t have to go hungry if you’re after a mid-morning treat or a late lunch. Or if you’d prefer a super-quick stop, you can simply refill your water bottle and buy a packed lunch to take with you.
You’ll also find maps, guide books, the local weather forecast and information on public transport at these eating places so that you can easily plan your next adventure.
