The Guild of Manx Registered Tour Guides is an association of individuals generally known as Blue Badge Guides who have passed academic and practical training qualifications about guiding in the Isle of Man.
The Manx Guild is affiliated to the British Guild of Tourist Guides. Members of the Guild of Manx Registered Tour Guides are fully insured for public liability and adhere to a strict code of conduct.
Blue Badge Guides provide tour guiding for passengers on visiting cruise ships, for independent visitors to the Island and for locals who are seeking to learn more about the history, heritage and culture of the Isle of Man. As well as working as step-on guides, some Blue Badge Guides are qualified driver-guides and take guests on tours in their own vehicles, whereas others may arrange hire of local transport to convey guests to sites of interest. Some guides specialise in particular topics, such as genealogy, wildlife or geology. Blue Badge Guides explain the Island's features in an informative and friendly manner, with the integrity and professionalism that their qualification requires.
