Glevum

About

This single level seaside self-catering accommodation sleeps a group of up to 6 people, and is located in a highly desirable location and features a rare private parking space on the often busy Laxey Promenade.

Featuring two king size bedrooms and one bedroom with a bunk bed, it's perfect for a family group. Sit outside on a warm summer's day and soak in the atmosphere of one of the island's best seaside spots. It's also great in the winter too! Pop along to The Shed for coffee and cake, where you can wrap up using their blankets to keep the chill away!

Glevum is a haven for those who love the sea, whether it be soaking in its beauty from afar or getting your feet wet with your choice of water sport! This is after all a popular spot for sea dipping, especially considering the two cafes located on Laxey Promenade. There is often a portable Finnish sauna on the promenade that’ll take your seaside relaxation to a whole new level! You can even hire it for your group's use at Green Creek Hut Company and they will bring the sauna to you!

For such a quaint village, there is lots to do in Laxey. Besides the lovely beach, which is inviting no matter the weather, there are plenty of restaurants and cosy pubs.

Travel back in time to the Victorian era! Visit The Laxey Wheel, also known as Lady Isabella, which is nestled away above the village and is the largest working water wheel in the world, built to pump water from the Laxey mines. Climb to the top of the wheel up the spiral staircase and reap the reward of panoramic views of the Laxey Valley. Another fantastic example of Victorian engineering in Laxey is the Manx Electric Railway. Hop aboard at the Laxey tram stop and head south for Douglas, north for Ramsey or up to the island's highest peak, Snaefell!

Book Glevum and Mariners House as part of a group, given they are a matter of feet apart!

Glevum is managed by local self catering holiday accommodation provider Island Escapes. Please visit their website to book Glevum
