About
Jurby Race Circuit is the only short circuit on the Isle of Man, situated in the North of the Island. It is most simply accessed by travelling halfway round the TT course to the Sulby Hotel and turning left. From here Jurby is just a couple of miles up the road, entered from the Coast Road gate.
Jurby was originally a WW2 airfield and is still retained today as an emergency landing strip. Over the years there have been several track configurations, using various combinations of the old runway and perimeter roads. Nowadays there is a single configuration, which can be run in both directions, challenging riders with a mix of technical and high-speed corners.
The Andreas Racing Association run a number of ACU racing events throughout the year at Jurby which are part of the ARA championships, the ARA also run Jurby Day and the end of year endurance racing event, the ARA play an important role in Motorcycle and Sidecar racing on the Isle of Man. In 2023 there were 12 solo riders and 6 sidecar teams from the ARA Paddock competing at the TT and at the Manx Grand Prix there were a further 15 Solo riders from the ARA including Joe Yeardsley and Marcus Simpson who were both newcomers, they finished 1st & 2nd in the Senior Manx Grand Prix and Joe set a new Senior MGP Lap record, this shows how important the Andreas Racing Association is to racing on the Isle of Man and Manx racers as without the ARA events at Jurby they would have to travel to the UK or Ireland.
Andreas Racing Association run their own race school as an integral part of their meetings for people who want to get into the sport, plus pre-licence application courses. For more information please see www.andreasracing.im.
