Trail Lodge

About

Trail Lodge offers premium, self-catering accommodation within the historic former Silverdle Corn Mill. It is located in the tranquil rural setting of Silverdale, an idyllic glen in the southern village of Ballasalla.

Trail Lodge is ideal for groups and families looking to get away from it all and who are keen to explore the beautiful Isle of Man on either four wheels, two wheels or on foot.

We have eight bedrooms in total, offering a great deal of flexibility in terms of group size. There are four deluxe twin and bunk bedrooms and four deluxe twin and single bedrooms.

Your comfort is our priority! All beds have Egyptian cotton sheets and their own wet rooms as well as the convenience of keyless door entry. If you're planning on spending a day enjoyng the Great Manx Outdoors then we have a boot room with lockers for the exclusive use of visitors. You'll be able to safely store outdoor gear, bikes and equipment, plus we have wash-down facilities.

After a long day outdoors, why not chill out in front of a 40" flat screen TV - there's one in each of our bedrooms. You can also unwind with a Nespresso coffee or a drink from the mini bar.

Children can take advantage of the recently refurbished playground featuring the historic Victorian water-powered carousel, a grass paddock ideal for picnics, barbecues and outdoor games, is situated adjacent to the playground. Their day wouldn't be complete without hiring a pedalo or kayak on the Monks lake.

There is free on-site parking though a short stroll through the glen will take you to Ballasalla village where you will find a convenience store, a pub and two restaurants. Ballasalla is also well-served by public transport both from Douglas and the Airport. There is a regular, frequent bus service every twenty minutes and the village is also served by the famous Steam Railway.

The TrailLodge property features a fantastic waterwheel that was used for the building's original purpose as a corn mill. The refurbished wheel generates clean, sustainably-generated electriciity for the benefit of visitors staying there, a unique feature in the Isle of Man.

We look forward to welcoming you!
