Accessibility

  • Disabled Accessibility - Sunset View Cottage is graded as M1 under the National Accessibility Scheme. Although is is not graded for wheelchair use (because there is no room for a wheelchair turning circle in the bathroom) it is often occupied by part time wheelchair users. Accessibility Statements for all three cottages are available to view on www.manxfarmcottages.com We welcome any enquiries about the facilities - please contact us if you require more detailed information. We will strive to accommodate any specific requirements if we can reasonably do so.

Children & Infants

  • Accept children (Minimum age) - We have a large unfenced pond close to our cottages so only welcome children of 5yrs and over.

Leisure Facilities

  • Cycle hire - This can be arranged in advance or on arrival, via OUTDOORS of Ramsey, who will deliver bikes to Ballacamaish Farm. Just ask for details.
  • Fishing - There is excellent sea fishing available off the many beaches nearby, from The Lhen up to the Point of Ayre. Ballacamaish Farm Cottages are ideally situated for visiting sea anglers, being only 1-7m away. The tope and bass fishing are particularly good along this stretch of the north west coastline.

Parking & Transport

  • Car parking - Extensive parking areas are available, directly outside each cottage. Some of the spaces are undercover with security lighting so ideal for bikes/motorcycles. Our lane is concrete so a very good surface to drive on. We are also well off the road so very secure.

  • Linen provided - Bed linen is provided in the rental. Personal towels can be supplied at a charge of £5 per person - please book or request in advance.
  • Pets accepted - Guests booking into Sunset View Cottage (ONLY) can bring up to 2 well behaved pet dogs OR 1 Registered Assistance Dog + 1 pet dog. Our T&Cs include the following; DOGS: New for 2019, we will welcome up to 2 pet dogs in addition to Assistance Dogs, in Sunset View ONLY. Rules are as follows; 1. Dogs must not be allowed on any furniture/beds or be left alone at any time, unless in the owner's own cage. 2. Dogs must be kept on a lead on the farm when outside the enclosed garden, until an off lead exercise area has been agreed with Sara. (The long driveway and internal lane on the farm provides ample 'on site' walking.) 3. All dog poo must be picked up and conveyed by owners to the local dog bin on the edge of the village, never placed in the brown bin. 4. Dogs must not be allowed to enter either Harvest or Lavender Cottages. 5. A water bowl will be provided but otherwise owners need to bring their own dog bedding etc 6. No responsibility will be taken for the behaviour or whereabouts of any dogs staying with guests. 7. A charge of £40 will apply to each booking and must be made in advance.

Provider Features

  • Farm - Ballacamaish Farm Cottages are situated on a quiet and clean working farm. All the cottages are well off the road and surrounded by our own fields, large pond and woodland. Supervised access to our farm is available by arrangement for all guests.
  • In countryside - Ballacamaish Farm Cottages are situated in the lovely rural area in the north of the Island. Several beaches are within easy walking (Lhen beach 1m) and driving distance (Smeal & Blue Point beaches 3-5m). Ramsey (6m away) is the nearlest town. Douglas is 21m and the airport 25m. The road we are situated on (A19) is only served by a school bus service during term time so we do recommend that you have your own transport.

Target Markets

  • Marketed to any other specialist market - We offer Short Breaks of 4 nights all year round. Guests can also start their stay on any day of the week, subject only to availablility. We regularly have groups of fishermen to stay because we are very close to the north west coast, running up to the Point of Ayre. We offer a separate freezer + out-building for storage of any bait and kit.
  • Special provisions for cyclists - Ballacamaish Farm Cottages are accredited under the CYCLISTS WELCOME scheme. We have plenty of undercover storage, some of which is lockable if required.
  • Special provisions for walkers - Ballacamaish Farm Cottages are accredited under the WALKERS WELCOME scheme. Maps and information for walkers is available in each of our cottages.
